Collections Specialist I

Job Summary

Responsible for performing collection follow-up on outstanding insurance balances, the full-time remote Collections Specialist I will identify claim issues, ensure timely resolution in compliance with regulations, and communicate effectively with insurance payers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform follow-up on outstanding insurance balances and obtain payment confirmation or required documentation
• Document all actions taken on accounts within the appropriate system to ensure a clear resolution process
• Make outbound calls to insurance payers while maintaining professional communication and handle incoming correspondence promptly

Required qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required
• Associate Degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred
• 0-2 years of experience in medical collections, accounts receivable, billing, or healthcare revenue cycle operations required
• Experience with insurance follow-up and claim resolution in a healthcare setting preferred
