Colorado Licensed Utility Substation Director

Job Summary

Providing strategic leadership and technical oversight, the full-time Colorado Licensed Utility Substation Director will manage engineering teams delivering substation services, focusing on operational efficiency, quality assurance, and client satisfaction, with the option for local in-office or full-time remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Develops and implements multi-year plans for growth, efficiency, and profitability in collaboration with leadership
• Builds and maintains a high-performing substation group, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
• Manages quality and deliverables across teams, ensuring client satisfaction and timely project completion

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEE or BSEET) from an accredited institution; power systems focus preferred
• 10+ years of progressive experience in substation engineering, including at least 4 years in a leadership role
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, substation design, and Protection & Control (P&C) engineering
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
