Commercial and Strategic Counsel

Job Summary

Serving as a legal advisor embedded across the business, the remote Counsel, Commercial and Strategic will manage legal and regulatory inquiries, focusing 30% of their time on commercial and vendor agreements while collaborating with various departments to align legal strategy with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on diverse legal and regulatory matters, including data privacy and dispute resolution
• Engage with departmental leadership to align legal strategy with commercial objectives and streamline workflows
• Draft, review, and negotiate technology agreements and vendor arrangements

Required qualifications

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing
• 4+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably with in-house experience in consumer financial services or fintech
• Proven experience structuring and negotiating commercial agreements and technology contracts
• Strong desire to engage with new domain areas such as AI and privacy
• Ability to evaluate risk thoughtfully while supporting business potential
