Commercial Legal Counsel

Job Summary

Supporting a growing SaaS company, the full-time remote Commercial Legal Counsel will negotiate and close customer agreements, collaborate with procurement and product teams, and advise on privacy and AI-related legal issues.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate customer agreements, including MSAs, Order Forms, and DPAs, while partnering closely with the Go-to-Market team
• Review and negotiate a variety of procurement agreements across different vendor types, ensuring alignment with company goals
• Advise on legal issues related to AI, privacy, and product terms, while maintaining internal playbooks and templates for efficiency

Required qualifications

• Juris Doctor or equivalent law degree, with membership in good standing in a Canadian provincial or US state bar
• 3 to 5 years of experience as a commercial transactional lawyer, either in a law firm or in-house at a tech company
• Proven experience drafting and negotiating customer agreements, including MSAs and NDAs
• Working knowledge of privacy laws such as GDPR and their application in commercial agreements
• Strong interest in AI and its legal implications, along with practical experience using AI tools in legal work
