Communications Lead

Job Summary

To drive organic demand for Wikimedia Enterprise services, the full-time contract Communications Lead will develop external communications strategies, manage media relations, and produce marketing materials while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and own the external communications strategy for Wikimedia Enterprise across various channels
• Build relationships with reporters and conference organizers to secure speaking opportunities
• Serve as the primary media liaison, managing press inquiries and preparing spokespeople for interviews

Required qualifications

• At least 8+ years of communications experience in a tech or B2B tech environment
• Proven experience in bridging communications and marketing functions, especially in commercial contexts
• Experience developing and executing earned media strategies and building relationships with press
• Strong stakeholder management skills with a track record of influencing senior stakeholders
• Sound judgment on reputational risk, particularly in balancing commercial messaging with mission-driven considerations
