Job Summary

To support a comprehensive healthcare network, the full-time Connecticut Certified Inpatient Coder will review inpatient clinical documentation to assign diagnosis and procedure codes, ensuring compliance and accuracy in a 100% remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Applies knowledge of anatomy and clinical processes to assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for complex accounts
• Analyzes medical records and DRG assignments, ensuring adherence to coding guidelines and departmental standards
• Collaborates with clinical documentation specialists and other departments to resolve coding issues and enhance documentation quality

Required qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
• Two to three years of progressive experience in an acute care hospital
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification required
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding, UHDDS, and various DRG methodologies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and coding software
