Job Summary
To support the Professional Coding Leadership Team, the full-time remote Connecticut Licensed Coding Educator will develop and implement educational programs for professional coders, conduct audits to ensure compliance, and provide guidance on coding practices to physicians and staff.
Key responsibilities
- Educates providers and coding staff on proper CPT, ICD-10, and HCPC coding, serving as a subject matter expert
- Facilitates training sessions and creates educational materials to enhance coding accuracy and compliance
- Conducts coding audits and develops action plans to improve department accuracy and charge capture
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program
- Five (5) years of coding and/or coding audit educator experience required
- CPC credential (Certified Professional Coder) through AAPC is mandatory
- Expert knowledge of coding guidelines, payment methodology, and CMS regulations
- Experience in training and education in both large and small group settings
