Contract Curriculum Writer

Job Summary

To develop engaging and theologically accurate content for Grades 4 to 8, the part-time Contract Curriculum Writer will create student and teacher materials for religious education, working remotely on a temporary basis from January 2027 through September 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Write engaging and age-appropriate student text and activities that align with lesson objectives
• Collaborate with the Curriculum Specialist and other team members to shape lesson direction and revise content based on feedback
• Ensure all materials reflect Catholic teachings and meet established scope, sequence, and style guidelines

Required qualifications

• Experience developing curriculum for elementary students, particularly in religious education
• Strong writing skills with a focus on age-appropriate content for Grades 4-8
• Solid grounding in the Catholic faith and understanding of its teachings
• Ability to provide clear instructional guidance and support for teachers and catechists
• Submission of a relevant writing sample demonstrating curriculum content for elementary-age students
