Contract Due Diligence Underwriter
Job Summary
Working remotely, the Contract Due Diligence Underwriter will review mortgage loan files for accuracy and compliance, perform due diligence on loan applications, and analyze borrower profiles while ensuring adherence to investor guidelines in a contract position.
Key responsibilities
- Review mortgage loan files to verify accuracy and completeness of required documents
- Perform due diligence on residential mortgage loan applications to ensure compliance with investor guidelines
- Analyze borrower credit profiles and calculate income to assess repayment capacity
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of current underwriting experience, preferably with Quality Control experience
- Minimum 1-year Due Diligence experience at a mortgage lending institution
- Strong knowledge of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac guidelines and Non-QM loan processes
- Proficiency in calculating income from various earning types, including self-employed income
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to multitask in a high-volume environment
