Job Summary
Working remotely on a contract basis, the Contract Due Diligence Underwriter will review multi-state loan packages to ensure compliance and accuracy, protecting the integrity of the loan manufacturing process for purchases and refinances.
Key responsibilities
- Review mortgage loan files for accuracy and compliance with investor/product guidelines
- Analyze borrower credit profiles and calculate income to assess repayment capacity
- Execute risk analysis and recommend resolutions for identified deficiencies during the review process
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of current underwriting experience, preferably with Quality Control background
- Minimum 1 year of Due Diligence experience at a mortgage lending institution
- Strong working knowledge of LauraMac Due Diligence software
- Familiarity with Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac guidelines and Non-QM loan processes
- Ability to analyze loan-to-value ratios and debt carried accurately
