Job Summary

As a hands-on builder, the Controller will own the end-to-end accounting function for a fast-growing healthcare organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance while working in a hybrid environment based in New York City or Chicago.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accurate financial records and reporting
• Design and maintain scalable accounting processes, internal controls, and financial policies to support growth
• Manage tax compliance, audit processes, and financial obligations to ensure timely and accurate completion

Required qualifications

• 8-12 years of accounting and financial operations experience in corporate or multi-entity environments
• 3-5 years of experience managing core accounting functions, including financial reporting and compliance
• Experience with accounting systems and financial technology, including ERP implementation or optimization
• Strong technical accounting skills with a proven ability to improve processes and accuracy
• CPA certification or equivalent public accounting experience is preferred
