Corporate Counsel for International Expansion

Job Summary

Supporting international expansion efforts, the full-time Associate Director and Corporate Counsel will manage a variety of legal issues related to BetterHelp's operations outside the US, including contract negotiation, compliance, and regulatory matters, while working remotely with occasional travel to the San Jose office.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on legal issues related to international business, including market launches and existing operations
• Negotiate and draft various agreements, ensuring compliance with global data security and privacy laws
• Support health and telehealth regulatory compliance and assist with employment legal matters in international markets

Required qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with 1-5 years' post-qualification experience, preferably admitted in the UK or Ireland
• Fluency in English and legal experience in key European markets (France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, or Italy)
• Experience advising international technology businesses, ideally in a B2C, online platform/SaaS, or healthcare context
• 3+ years of relevant legal experience in consumer business, online platforms, or healthcare, with a focus on privacy and regulatory inquiries
