Cost Controls Specialist

Job Summary

Supporting Power & Energy programs, the mostly remote Cost Controls Specialist will develop and maintain project cost control processes, prepare budgets and forecasts, and perform cost variance analysis for transmission line and substation capital projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and monitor project cost control processes for Power & Energy projects
• Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, cash flows, and cost reports to track project performance
• Perform cost variance analysis and support change management, contractor progress tracking, and project close-out reporting

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
• 5-7 years of experience in cost controls or project controls on capital projects, preferably in Power & Energy
• Intermediate hands-on experience with forecasting, budget tracking, and cost reporting
• Experience with cost management and PMIS tools such as EcoSys, Procore, or Oracle preferred
• Working knowledge of earned value management (EVM) and project financial controls
