Cost Controls Specialist

Job Summary

Supporting Power & Energy programs, the mostly remote Cost Controls Specialist will manage project cost control processes, prepare budgets and forecasts, and perform cost variance analysis for transmission line and substation capital projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and monitor project cost control processes for Power & Energy projects
• Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, cash flows, and cost reports to track project performance
• Perform cost variance analysis and trend analysis, identifying cost risks and recommending corrective actions

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
• 7-10 years of experience in cost controls or project controls on capital projects, preferably in Power & Energy
• Advanced experience with forecasting, budget tracking, variance analysis, and cost reporting
• Familiarity with cost management and PMIS tools such as EcoSys, Procore, or Oracle
• Working knowledge of earned value management (EVM) and project financial controls
