CPC Cardiology Medical Coder

Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare practice, the full-time Profee Cardiology Medical Coder will provide coding and abstracting services for outpatient, physician, and emergency room medical records remotely, utilizing ICD-10-CM, CPS, and CPT coding systems while mentoring new coders and ensuring compliance with coding guidelines.

Key responsibilities:

• Review medical records to identify relevant diagnoses and procedures, ensuring accurate coding
• Abstract information from medical records and seek clarification from physicians on ambiguous documentation
• Participate in industry forums and support coding education within the team

Required qualifications:

• CPC certification required; additional certifications such as CCA, CCS, or RHIT preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of professional fee cardiac coding experience
• Proficiency in coding EKGs and other clinic accounts
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding principles and guidelines
• Experience with Epic/3M 360 is a plus
