Credit Balance Specialist

Job Summary

To support revenue cycle operations, the remote Credit Balance Specialist will process refunds accurately and in compliance with payer regulations, manage refund requests, and maintain financial records while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

• Receive, review, and process refund requests in accordance with payer rules and internal procedures
• Accurately post and record refund transactions, ensuring proper documentation and audit-ready financial records
• Communicate with external stakeholders to confirm refund details and request supporting documentation as needed

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience handling refunds, payment posting, or medical billing is helpful
• Strong mathematical skills and comfort handling financial calculations
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting Explanations of Benefits (EOBs)
• Ability to independently manage all aspects of the job role in a remote environment
