Credit Balance Specialist

Job Summary

To support revenue cycle operations, the remote Credit Balance Specialist will ensure accurate and timely processing of refunds, validate transactions, and maintain compliance with payer regulations while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, review, and process refund requests according to payer rules and internal procedures
• Accurately post and record refund transactions in the billing system, ensuring proper documentation
• Communicate with external stakeholders to confirm refund details and request supporting documentation

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in handling refunds, payment posting, or medical billing is helpful
• Strong mathematical skills and comfort handling financial calculations
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting Explanations of Benefits (EOBs)
• Ability to independently manage all aspects of the job in a remote environment
