Cyber Security Analyst III

Job Summary

Supporting the Department of Energy's cybersecurity mission, the remote Cyber Security Analyst III will conduct security assessments, evaluate system risks, and ensure compliance with security controls while managing operational cybersecurity functions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct assessments of security and privacy controls to determine effectiveness and alignment with DOE requirements
• Document findings and recommended corrective actions in formal assessment reports for Team Leaders
• Review and analyze Assessment & Authorization (A&A) packages for completeness, accuracy, and effectiveness of controls

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or four years of equivalent work experience
• 5-7 years of experience in cybersecurity operations or security control assessments
• Experience with the RMF process and NIST Special Publication 800-53 security controls
• Ability to conduct security assessments within federal cybersecurity frameworks
• Strong written communication skills for preparing security documentation and assessment reports
