Cyber Security Engineer
Job Summary
Supporting a large Federal agency, the full-time Cyber Security Engineer will configure, deploy, and maintain FortiGate firewalls while ensuring compliance with NIST 800-53 standards in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Apply configurations on perimeter routers, firewalls, and security controls in accordance with NIST 800-53
- Create and manage firewall policies, NAT, VIPs, and security rules, while monitoring security events and logs
- Automate security/network tasks using Python, APIs, or FortiManager automation
Required qualifications
- 7 years of experience with a bachelor's degree or 9 years of total experience
- Proficient in network, routing, and switching
- Proficient in network scripting and troubleshooting across OSI Model Layers 1-7
- Flexibility to support after-hours maintenance activities
- Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust from the Department of the Interior
