Cybersecurity Architect

Job Summary

To support the Department of Veterans Affairs Cybersecurity Operations and Services Enterprise, the remote Cybersecurity Architect will define enterprise security architectures, develop architecture roadmaps, and analyze system designs to enhance cybersecurity resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Define and assess enterprise security architectures for Zero Trust, cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments
• Develop architecture roadmaps, reference patterns, security requirements, and transition plans
• Advise technical teams and leadership on security architecture decisions and remediation priorities

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
• Ten or more years of experience in enterprise security architecture, systems architecture, or cybersecurity engineering
• Demonstrated knowledge of Zero Trust, identity and access management, and security frameworks such as NIST and RMF
• Experience designing or evaluating security architecture in a large enterprise or Government environment
• Ability to communicate complex architecture decisions to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders
