Job Summary
Experienced cybersecurity attorneys will find a full-time salaried opportunity as a Cybersecurity Legal Counsel, responsible for providing legal guidance during cybersecurity incidents, assessing legal obligations, and negotiating cybersecurity terms in contracts, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the primary legal advisor during cybersecurity incidents, coordinating with various teams
- Assess legal and regulatory obligations arising from cybersecurity incidents and advise on the investigation process
- Draft, review, and negotiate cybersecurity and data protection provisions in agreements with customers and vendors
Required qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
- Eight to ten years of legal experience with a focus on cybersecurity matters
- Significant experience in cybersecurity incident response and breach-notification analysis
- Demonstrated ability to draft and negotiate cybersecurity-related contractual provisions
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles and data governance practices
