Job Summary
To support the Department of Energy's mission, the remote Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) will conduct comprehensive security assessments, analyze complex cybersecurity issues, and contribute to the development of strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the enterprise cybersecurity posture.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of security and privacy controls, providing expert analysis on deficiencies and remediation strategies
- Utilize advanced modeling and statistical analysis to develop solutions for cybersecurity challenges and support decision-making processes
- Assist in shaping enterprise cyber strategy and contribute to policy development and strategic cybersecurity initiatives
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or four years of equivalent professional experience
- 8-10 years of experience in cybersecurity, cyber operations, or related technical fields
- Demonstrated expertise in specialized cybersecurity domains such as risk analysis and cyber forensics
- Advanced proficiency in technical disciplines including mathematics and operational modeling
- Strong understanding of federal cybersecurity frameworks, including NIST RMF and NIST SP 800-53
