Cybersecurity Tools Engineer
Job Summary
To support the Department of Veterans Affairs Cybersecurity Operations and Services Enterprise program, the remote Cybersecurity Tools Engineer will engineer, configure, and sustain cybersecurity tools while developing implementation plans and integrating tool data with security operations.
Key responsibilities
- Engineer, configure, integrate, and sustain cybersecurity tools for detection, prevention, and compliance
- Develop tool implementation plans, configuration standards, and technical documentation
- Analyze tool performance and recommend improvements based on coverage gaps and data quality
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant technical experience
- Five or more years of experience in cybersecurity tool engineering, security operations, or systems administration
- Hands-on experience with SIEM, vulnerability management, endpoint detection and response, or related tools
- Experience in integrating tools and documenting technical configurations and procedures
- Strong troubleshooting and automation skills
