Job Summary
Guiding the migration of production data workloads to Databricks, the full-time remote Data Architect - Databricks Migration will lead solution design, define Databricks standards, and support a hands-on team of engineers while ensuring business-critical operations remain stable during the transition.
Key responsibilities
- Guide the overall solution design for the Databricks platform and align priorities with the client's project lead
- Define Databricks patterns and standards, including medallion architecture and pipeline conventions
- Lead the migration of production pipelines from legacy systems to Databricks while maintaining stable outputs
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with experience as a technical lead or data architect
- Production experience with Databricks on Azure
- Strong hands-on experience with Python, PySpark, and advanced SQL
- Proven experience designing and implementing medallion architectures in production
- Experience with streaming or event-driven ingestion on Azure, such as Event Hubs or Event Grid
