Job Summary
Supporting NASA's Aerospace Capabilities Portfolio Office, the full-time remote Data Catalog Specialist will manage data cataloging, establish metadata standards, and drive adoption across the portfolio to enhance data accessibility and trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Catalog and describe datasets to create clear, searchable records for users
- Build and maintain taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and metadata documentation standards
- Map data lineage and assist teams in understanding data provenance and quality
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, data science, engineering, or a related field
- 2-5 years of experience in data cataloging, metadata management, or related roles
- Hands-on experience with data catalog or metadata management platforms
- Ability to understand data workflows and capture accurate lineage and metadata
- Strong knowledge of metadata standards and taxonomies
