Data Cloud Engineer
Job Summary
To support a long-term federal modernization program, the fully remote Data Cloud Engineer will design, develop, and maintain production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines while ensuring secure and scalable data integration for mission-critical analytics within DoD environments.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and maintain high-performance ETL/ELT pipelines with a focus on PySpark development and Spark SQL optimization
- Build scalable data pipelines using Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, and AWS Glue
- Implement data quality and governance controls, including schema validation and monitoring of pipeline performance
Required qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience designing and operating scalable data pipelines using Azure Synapse and/or Databricks, with a Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Strong hands-on experience with PySpark development and high-performance ETL pipeline coding
- Advanced skills in Spark SQL, Python, and SQL for large-scale data transformation
- Experience with data governance, RBAC, and credential management in secure cloud environments
- Active Secret security clearance is required
