Data Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the ingestion process end-to-end, the full-time Data Engineer will manage external data pipelines, ensuring the normalization and validation of health and benefits data in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the ingestion of data from various external sources, ensuring quality and accuracy before it reaches downstream teams
• Unify and standardize employee eligibility and elections data processes, implementing consistent mapping and validation practices
• Enhance pipeline efficiency and scalability while maintaining data integrity and security throughout the data handling process

Required qualifications

• Hands-on experience managing a production data pipeline, including ingestion, normalization, mapping, and validation
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with the ability to optimize queries and analyze performance issues
• Experience with data orchestration tools, preferably Dagster, and familiarity with relational databases like Postgres
• Strong understanding of data quality practices, including reconciliation and testing methodologies
• Experience with AI-assisted development workflows and a commitment to handling sensitive data responsibly
