Job Summary
As a subject-matter expert in database architecture, the full-time remote Data Engineer will drive the technical direction for scalable data solutions, manage complex database systems, and mentor other engineers while ensuring high performance and reliability of compliance-critical systems.
Key responsibilities
- Guide engineers through complex technical problems and set the technical approach for scalable data solutions
- Drive cross-functional projects from design through delivery, proactively addressing potential issues
- Mentor other engineers, modeling sound engineering practices and influencing the adoption of modern methodologies
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server in a production environment
- Deep expertise in designing logical and physical data models, including schema design and data relationships
- Strong command of data security practices, including encryption and access controls
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues in high-availability systems
- Advanced proficiency in performance tuning and query optimization at scale
