Data Engineer

Job Summary

To support the Office of Chief Data Officer and the Office of Performance Quality for a federal government contract, the full-time remote Data Engineer will design and maintain scalable data pipelines, perform in-depth analysis of large datasets, and deliver actionable insights using SQL, PySpark, and Python within a Databricks environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using PySpark and Python
• Conduct exploratory data analysis and develop self-service analytics dashboards using Databricks SQL, Tableau, or Power BI
• Collaborate with data scientists and agency stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver tailored solutions

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data analytics, or a closely related discipline
• Strong proficiency in SQL with experience in complex joins and query performance tuning
• Hands-on experience with PySpark for distributed data processing and transformations
• Direct experience working within Databricks, including notebooks and jobs
