Data Engineer
Job Summary
To support the development of GenAI solutions for higher education and SLED clients, the full-time remote Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain data pipelines, ensuring data governance and compliance while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize data access and readiness for AI applications.
Key responsibilities
- Design and maintain data pipelines using BigQuery and Dataflow for client data ingestion and transformation
- Classify and tag sensitive client data, enforcing governance policies and assessing data readiness for AI use cases
- Collaborate with technical teams to negotiate data access and maintain documentation of data flows and schemas
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
- Hands-on experience building data pipelines and ELT/ETL processes on major cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud
- Experience with data governance and classification tools, particularly Google Cloud Dataplex and Cloud DLP
- Strong SQL skills and proficiency in Python for data transformation
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations relevant to education, such as FERPA
