Data Engineer
Job Summary
Owning the end-to-end data systems, the full-time remote Data Engineer will manage CDC replication from MySQL to BigQuery, develop data models using dbt, and ensure data reliability and observability while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain the data platform foundations, including standards for dbt development and data workflows
- Improve and troubleshoot CDC replication processes and contribute to data ingestion infrastructure decisions
- Develop and optimize BigQuery data models and support the creation of trusted metrics and dashboards in Looker
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on data platforms
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with hands-on experience in BigQuery
- Production experience with dbt and infrastructure as code, preferably using Terraform
- Experience with a major cloud platform, preferably GCP
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including testing, version control, and code reviews
