Data Engineer
Job Summary
Leading the evolution of a petabyte-scale data platform on AWS, the full-time Data Engineer will design and build scalable data pipelines, mentor engineering teams, and contribute to architectural decisions while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evolve a petabyte scale AWS data platform ensuring performance and scalability
- Build and optimize highly scalable data pipelines using JVM languages, Spark, and Python
- Act as a principal technical leader, mentoring engineers and promoting best practices across the organization
Required qualifications
- Expert level experience in large scale data platforms with Java-based languages and Apache Spark
- Strong expertise in the AWS data ecosystem (Glue, S3, Athena, etc.)
- Advanced understanding of distributed systems and parallelized workloads
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Advanced English proficiency and availability to travel to S o Carlos/SP as needed
