Data Engineer
Job Summary
To support a growing team, the contracted Data Engineer will build and maintain reliable data pipelines, manage data engineering projects, and optimize cloud data services while working remotely for 40 hours per week over a duration of 4-6 months.
Key responsibilities:
- Build, maintain, and improve data pipelines that ingest, transform, and deliver data across the client's platform
- Own data engineering projects from implementation through deployment, monitoring, and ongoing support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate data needs into reliable, production-grade solutions
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 4-5 years of industry experience in software or data engineering, including building or supporting production data systems
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or another general-purpose language, along with strong SQL skills
- Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and technologies such as dbt, Fivetran, or similar tools
- Hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift, and orchestration tools such as Airflow
