Data Engineer, EDI
Job Summary
To ensure accurate healthcare data transactions, the full-time Data Engineer, EDI will test and troubleshoot core EDI transactions, diagnose errors, and resolve production issues while working either onsite in Tempe, AZ or remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Test and troubleshoot core EDI transactions to confirm claims, eligibility, and remittance data accuracy
- Diagnose transaction-level errors and collaborate with development teams to resolve mapping or programming issues
- Build and maintain test documentation, including test plans and Companion Guide documentation, to ensure audit readiness
Required qualifications
- 3+ years of experience with healthcare EDI transactions and HIPAA 4010/5010 standards
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Life Sciences, or equivalent experience; Master's degree is a plus
- Hands-on experience testing and troubleshooting X12 transaction sets (837, 835, 834, 270/271, 276/277)
- Experience working directly with EDI trading partners, payers, or vendors on connectivity and transaction issues
- Working knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, or similar)
