Data Engineer Lead
Job Summary
Leading a team of data engineers, the full-time Data Engineer Lead will own the architecture and reliability of the data platform, ensuring data accessibility and security while collaborating with various stakeholders in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end architecture of the data platform, including ingestion, orchestration, transformation, warehousing, and serving layers on GCP
- Lead, mentor, and hire data engineers, conducting code and design reviews while supporting their professional growth
- Define and maintain the data engineering roadmap in collaboration with engineering, data science, and business stakeholders, balancing new capabilities against platform reliability
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus
- 6+ years of data engineering experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role or as a technical lead
- Proven experience in designing and scaling data architectures and ETL/ELT pipelines in production
- Expert SQL proficiency for complex queries and data modeling
- Strong software engineering background with experience in Python and building OOP systems
