Data Engineer Lead
Job Summary
Seeking a hands-on Data Engineer Lead, this full-time remote position will architect and build self-service capabilities for development teams using Databricks, focusing on automating infrastructure provisioning and governance while mentoring staff to adopt Infrastructure as Code practices.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the creation of developer self-service capabilities, including templates and provisioning scripts, to streamline infrastructure management
- Design and implement governance-as-code policies and validate provisioning paths to ensure compliance and security
- Provide mentorship and training to team members transitioning from manual infrastructure administration to self-service models
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Big Data roles
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks
- Strong knowledge of the AWS cloud platform
- Experience in the insurance industry
