Data Engineering Director

Job Summary

Building foundational data capabilities, the full-time salaried Data Engineering Director will manage the analytics layer, oversee production systems, and develop a data team while working in a hybrid environment based in New York City.

Key responsibilities

• Own the analytics layer by building and maintaining dbt models and ensuring consistent metric definitions across the organization
• Take ownership of production systems, improving them as they transition from engineering partners and resolving any issues that arise
• Develop and execute the data roadmap while building and managing a high-performing data team to enhance business observability

Required qualifications

• Strong proficiency in SQL, dbt, and Python, with hands-on experience writing production code
• Experience with healthcare data, including claims and EHR data, and familiarity with interoperability standards such as FHIR and HL7
• Knowledge of value-based care measurement methodologies, such as HEDIS/Stars and utilization metrics
• Proven track record in owning production systems and responding to operational issues effectively
• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field
