Data Engineering Manager
Job Summary
Managing the day-to-day activities of the data engineering team, the full-time remote Data Engineering Manager will oversee project prioritization, mentor team members, and collaborate with various stakeholders to design and deliver scalable data solutions in a regulated environment.
Key responsibilities
- Manage team activities, providing mentorship, goal setting, and performance feedback
- Communicate with state and provincial regulatory professionals to establish clear expectations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build data pipelines and support analytics initiatives
Required qualifications
- Minimum 3 years in a data-oriented leadership or management role and at least 5 years in software/data development
- Experience leading teams of 3 or more engineers
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, Python, and Docker
- Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools like Airflow and DBT
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) and related services
