Data Engineering Manager

Job Summary

Leading a core data engineering squad, the full-time remote Data Engineering Manager will oversee infrastructural platform projects, mentor a team of Data Engineers, and drive initiatives in a GCP-native environment utilizing AI for operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, scale, and mentor the Data Engineering and DBA teams while driving critical infrastructure initiatives
• Champion an AI-first engineering culture, embedding AI into pipeline code and platform operations
• Ensure high standards for data quality, testing, and cost optimization across cloud resources

Required qualifications

• Proven experience leading data engineering teams with hands-on coding and problem-solving skills
• Strong background in Google Cloud Platform, particularly with BigQuery and cloud data processing
• Practical expertise with dbt and Apache Flink (or Dataflow) for real-time streaming data
• Experience managing relational database teams, such as PostgreSQL/MySQL
• High standards for clean architecture, platform governance, and documentation
