Data Engineering Manager

Job Summary

Owning the data transformation layer, the full-time remote Data Engineering Manager will implement metric definitions, manage the transformation layer and warehouse, and build a team while maintaining accountability across various business functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the data layer by implementing consistent metric definitions in dbt and partnering with relevant teams
• Run the transformation layer and warehouse, ensuring every pipeline has an owner and known costs
• Build and lead a new Data sub-team while setting direction for warehouse strategy and API exposure

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years in data/analytics engineering with at least 2 years of experience managing a small team
• Proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience building and running production pipelines and a dbt transformation layer
• Experience owning a warehouse or pipeline budget and demonstrating measurable cost reductions
• Familiarity with B2B SaaS metrics and accountability for finance and operations stakeholders
• Daily use of AI tools with the ability to document decisions and communicate effectively with leadership
