Data Governance Engineer
Job Summary
Owning the governance layer, the full-time remote Data Governance Engineer will implement the Unity Catalog foundation, enforce data classification and access policies, and ensure compliance through documentation and monitoring.
Key responsibilities
- Configure the Unity Catalog foundation, including access controls and data classification
- Implement row filters and column masks to enforce access policies based on data classification
- Document governance standards and support audits by providing evidence of compliance
Required qualifications
- 5+ years in data platform engineering, cloud engineering, or platform administration
- Hands-on experience with Databricks administration in production environments
- Practical knowledge of Unity Catalog, including access controls and data lineage
- Strong SQL and working knowledge of Python for querying system tables
- Ability to work on client-furnished equipment and complete background checks
