Job Summary
To support mission requirements for a DoD customer, the full-time Data Governance & Metadata Scientist will develop and maintain metadata governance frameworks, automate metadata tagging processes, and implement data governance workflows in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Establish and maintain metadata governance frameworks to ensure compliance with DoD data management policies
- Develop automated metadata tagging processes to enhance data discoverability and lineage tracking
- Implement and manage data governance workflows, integrating with OpenLineage and GIS metadata standards
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Management, GIS, or a related field, or five years of equivalent experience
- Knowledge of developing and maintaining data governance frameworks and ensuring metadata consistency
- Proficiency in metadata management, data lineage tracking, and governance best practices
- Expertise in geospatial data standards and compliance with DoD metadata policies
- Experience with tools like OpenLineage or Apache Atlas for metadata and data lineage management
