Data Integration Specialist

Job Summary

To support a major higher education initiative, the contract-to-hire remote Data Integration Specialist will manage comprehensive data mapping and transformations, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across multiple university systems while working approximately 40 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive data mapping and execute transformations to build a unified data model for higher education products
• Evaluate and validate data mappings and transformations using higher education data to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and ensure the final data model meets operational requirements

Required qualifications

• Deep alignment with DataKind's mission and demonstrated commitment to educational equity and data-driven social impact
• Experience with higher education data schemas and databases, including SIS and LMS platforms
• Skill in writing data dictionaries and mapping specifications, ensuring traceability and repeatability of data transformations
• Strong understanding of data transformations and data quality checks
• Familiarity with SQL and Python
