Data Platform Engineer
Job Summary
To support the modernization of a healthcare data platform, the full-time remote Data Platform Engineer will lead the transition to a scalable, cloud-native AWS architecture, enabling efficient SQL-based reporting and data management for business stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the evolution from MSSQL XML object store to AWS data architecture, optimizing for performance and cost
- Design and implement data storage and query solutions, ensuring accessibility for non-technical users
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into effective data models and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
- Proven track record in architecting cloud data platform migrations in enterprise or healthcare settings
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, and Redshift
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Strong SQL skills with experience in XML-heavy data stores and translating business requirements into technical data models
