Data Platform Engineer
Job Summary
Leading the modernization of a healthcare data platform, the full-time Data Platform Engineer will architect a scalable, cloud-native AWS data architecture, enabling business stakeholders to run SQL-based reports and queries efficiently while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Implement the evolution from a Microsoft SQL XML object store to a cloud-native AWS data architecture
- Design and build the reporting and query layer for non-technical users to run SQL queries against healthcare data
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into effective data models and query patterns
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
- Proven experience in architecting cloud data platform migrations in production environments
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, and Redshift
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to design relational query layers over semi-structured data
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
