Data Platform Engineer
Job Summary
Leading the modernization of a healthcare data platform, the full-time remote Data Platform Engineer will architect a scalable AWS data architecture, implement cloud-native solutions, and optimize data storage and query performance for business stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and execute the migration of XML object store data from MSSQL to AWS, defining optimal storage formats and query strategies
- Design and build a reporting layer that enables non-technical users to run SQL queries against healthcare data
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into efficient data models
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering, with a strong focus on AWS
- Proven experience in cloud data platform migrations in production environments, particularly in healthcare
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, Aurora, and Redshift
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to design relational query layers over semi-structured data
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
