Data Platform Engineer
Job Summary
To modernize the healthcare data platform, the full-time remote Data Platform Engineer will lead the transition from a Microsoft SQL XML object store to a scalable AWS data architecture, enabling efficient SQL-based reporting and queries for business stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the migration of XML object store data to AWS, defining storage formats and optimizing query performance
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into effective data models and query patterns
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and apply Infrastructure as Code practices for data infrastructure management
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
- Proven experience in architecting cloud data platform migrations in production environments
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, and Redshift
- Strong SQL skills for designing relational query layers over semi-structured data
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent practical experience considered
