Data Platform Engineer
Job Summary
To lead the modernization of a healthcare data platform, the full-time Data Platform Engineer will implement a scalable, cloud-native AWS architecture, optimize query performance, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into effective data models, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the transition from a Microsoft SQL XML object store to a scalable AWS data architecture
- Design and build a reporting layer that enables non-technical users to run SQL queries against healthcare data
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure and apply Infrastructure as Code practices using AWS tools
Required qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
- Proven experience in architecting and executing cloud data platform migrations in enterprise or healthcare environments
- Strong SQL skills and experience with XML-heavy data stores
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- U.S. Citizenship required for this position
