Data Platform Engineer
Job Summary
To lead the modernization of a healthcare data platform, the full-time Data Platform Engineer will implement a scalable, cloud-native AWS architecture, optimize query performance, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless data integration and reporting.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the transition from a Microsoft SQL XML object store to an AWS data architecture, enabling efficient SQL-based reporting
- Design and build the reporting layer to facilitate data access for non-technical users while optimizing query performance and cost
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and apply Infrastructure as Code practices for data infrastructure management
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a focus on AWS
- Proven experience in cloud data platform migrations within enterprise or healthcare environments
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, and DynamoDB
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- U.S. Citizenship required for this position
