Job Summary
To modernize the healthcare data platform, the full-time remote Data Platform Engineer will lead the evolution from a Microsoft SQL XML object store to a scalable AWS architecture, enabling efficient SQL-based reporting and query capabilities for business stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the migration of XML object store data to AWS, defining optimal storage formats and query strategies
- Design and implement a reporting layer that allows non-technical users to run SQL queries against healthcare data
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into effective data models and optimize query performance
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
- Proven experience in architecting cloud data platform migrations in enterprise or healthcare settings
- Strong SQL skills with experience in designing relational queries over semi-structured data
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Familiarity with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, and Redshift
